Lakeside of the Smokies Balloon Fest Partners with The Resort at Governor’s Crossing

Knoxville, TN July 24, 2019 – Organizers of the Lakeside of the Smokies Balloon Fest announce partnership with The Resort at Governor’s Crossing to offer festival goers a special event lodging rate. The special rate is for visitors who want to attend the Lakeside of the Smokies Balloon Fest and would like to extend their stay to take in the beauty of autumn in the Great Smoky Mountains during peak color season.  Nearby attractions include Dollywood, Titanic Museum, Ripley’s Aquarium, Dolly’s Stampede Dinner Show, restaurants at The Island, and shopping at Tanger Outlets, plus miles of trails to explore in the national park.

Located just 30 minutes from the Lakeside of Smokies Balloon Fest site, the Resort at Governors Crossing is ranked in the Top 20 Family Resorts in America and the only ranked resort in Tennessee.  Amenities include an indoor water park, miniature golf, and kid friendly play areas.  Lodging is all condominiums with choices of queen and king studios, or one, two- and three-bedroom units, fully equipped kitchens, baths with jetted tubs, DVD players, and more.

Phillip Don Collier, President at The Resort at Governor’s Crossing, recommends booking early as the fall season fills up quickly.  “Our guests are always delighted with the location of the resort and the array of amenities offered on site. For festival goers, The Resort will make a nice base to plan their activities around,” Collier stated.

Event organizers have recently added lodging options to the official event website.  “As with large events of this type, lodging choices can range from campgrounds to upscale lodging like the Resort at Governor’s Crossing. We are delighted to have The Resort as a partner,” said Julie Graham, Event Organizer. “We suggest booking as early as possible so that visitors can get their first choice of lodging.”

The Lakeside of the Smokies Balloon Fest is scheduled for October 26 and 27, 2019 in White Pine, TN.  The family friendly event runs daily beginning at 1 pm and closes at 9 pm.  Admission is free.  Pre-Paid event parking on site is $20.00 per car.  Balloon rides and parking passes can be booked online. Proceeds from the event will benefit the mission of the Middle East Tennessee Tourism Council, a non-profit organization serving the sixteen counties of the East Tennessee Development District.
